1. Can you give me a brief overview of how the RBS Citizens™ Payment Plan and my Apple purchase will work together?
    There are 5 steps:

    1. Apply for an RBS Citizens Payment Plan to find out how much you can borrow for your Apple purchase. You will receive a loan number once approved.
    2. Shop at the Apple Store for Education http://store.apple.com/us-hed. Check out with your loan number.
    3. Choose your term to finalize the loan.
    4. E-sign your loan.
    5. Make your monthly payments (you can set up automatic payments).
  2. Who can apply for the RBS Citizens Payment Plan loan?
Applicants may be college students, parents of college students, and/or faculty of secondary or post secondary institutions. Co-Borrowers may be any credit worthy individual willing to apply jointly with the applicant.

  3. How does the RBS Citizens Payment Plan help me build my credit?
The key ingredient in building a person's credit score is having a credit history with a good track record of making payments. Paying on time is important in developing a good credit score.

  4. What information will I need before getting started with the application?
Most of the information we need from you is straight forward. To make the application process as fast as possible, have your SSN and bank details with you.

If you are applying with a Co-Borrower, give them a heads-up and tell them to look out for e-mails from RBS Citizens Payment Plan on how to apply.

  5. What is the process for a Co-Borrower?

    1. Upon receiving an e-mail invitation to be a Co-Borrower, complete the Co-Borrower portion of the application.
    2. After the applicant has shopped and e-signed their loan documents, an e-mail will be sent to the Co-Borrower to prompt them to e-sign their portion of the loan documents.
  6. When should I apply with a Co-Borrower?
    Apply with a Co-Borrower:
    -  If you are 18+ but are new to a credit product or loan.
    -  If you are 18+ and have a credit card but have never actually used it to establish a good credit history.

  7. Who could be a Co-Borrower and what does it mean for that person?
A Co-Borrower needs to be at least 18 years of age and have an established credit history, such as a parent, family member or guardian.
A Co-Borrower can help you apply for credit and build a credit history for the future.
A Co-Borrower will be responsible for the loan payments if you fail to make payments and this loan will appear on the Co-Borrower's credit report.

  8. Do I use my University dorm address or my permanent address?
Please use your permanent address for your RBS Citizens Payment Plan application.

  9. How much may I finance?
The RBS Citizens Payment Plan is available to finance purchases starting at $399.  You will be approved for a maximum amount based on your credit history that you can use to make a one-time purchase on the Apple Online Store.

  10. When will I receive my Apple purchase(s) after check out?
Your order will be pending until you (and your Co-Borrower if applicable) have finalized and signed your loan.  You will then receive an e-mail from Apple to let you know when your purchase has shipped.

  11. Can I pay for some of my purchase with a gift card and cover the rest with my loan?
At this time, a split payment is not available.  You will need to apply for an RBS Citizens Payment Plan to cover the entire shopping cart.

  12. What is the difference between interest rate and APR?
The interest rate is the cost to borrow the money disbursed in the loan. The APR is the total cost of the loan over its life, including costs and fees.

  13. What are the interest rates offered?
The interest rates range from 11.99%-19.99%.  You will be able to compare your interest rates and APR if you are approved.

  14. Why do I need a loan number and where can I find it?
Once you have been approved, you will be issued a loan number that you will need to use during check out to complete your purchase.  You will receive your loan number via e-mail and it will be displayed on the screen at time of credit approval.  You can also log in to your account under the RBS Citizens Payment Plan to find the loan number.

  2. Where can I find a receipt of my purchase?

  3. Can I pay off my loan earlier?
Yes.  You can choose to make additional payments and you will not be charged any early repayment fees.

  4. When are my payments due?
Your payments will be due on a monthly basis beginning 30-45 days from your initial shipment.  You will receive an e-mail to let you know when your payments are due.  Automatic payments can also be set-up, which is a great way to build your credit with on-time payments.

You are advised to insure your equipment so that you will receive the funds to replace the equipment.
